General Policies
Unless otherwise noted most non-apprentice classes are eleven weeks.
Late Fee
A LATE FEE OF $25.00 WILL BE ADDED TO ALL LATE REGISTRATIONS.
TeleCheck
When you provide a check as payment, you authorize us to use information from your check to process a one-time Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or a draft drawn from your account, or to process the payment as a check transaction. When we use information from your check to make an EFT, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day you make your payment, and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution. If your payment is returned unpaid, you authorize the collection of your payment and a return fee of $25.00 by EFT(s) or draft(s) drawn from your account.
Refund Policy
100 percent refund of tuition prior to the first class, 75 percent refund prior to the second class, 50 percent refund prior to the third class. Refund policy is effective at the start of the first class date.
There are no refunds made after the third class. Refund payments require a one month processing period.
Class Times
Classes begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise indicated. Apprentice students need to be on time. Apprentice hours will be recorded based on actual hours of attendance.
Books and Supplies
Students are responsible for paying for their own books, materials and supplies unless these costs are included in the course fee.
Smoke Free School
The Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School is a smoke free school. This includes use of all tobacco products in school buildings and buses, on school grounds, or at off campus work sites by students, school personnel and visitors.
65 Years and Older Discount
We value our life long learners. Therefore as a community service we offer a 50% discount for all courses with the exception of state apprentice and license programs. Cannot be combined with Early Registration discounts or applied to electrical/plumbing continuing education coursework. This applies to tuition only and does NOT include materials and books.
No Confirmation of Enrollment
Unless students are notified otherwise, they should consider themselves accepted for enrollment.
Class Cancellations and Snow Policy
When the day school is cancelled due to snow conditions, evening classes are also cancelled. In the event day classes are not cancelled and the weather worsens, a decision will be made by 4 p.m. and relayed to the following radio and television stations: WBZ TV, WHDH TV. Please bookmark and check our website for changes and updates. Make-up classes will be arranged.
Connect Ed
An automated phone system to better serve you. Northeast Adult Education utilizes an automated phone messaging system. We ask you to provide our office with two phone numbers so that you may be contacted in the event of your class being cancelled or delayed for any reason.
What Do I Do The First Night Of Class?
Students should enter the front/ main lobby of Northeast and information will be provided regarding room assignments.

Attendance
An 85% attendance rule applies to academics, apprenticeship training, and all licensing courses. Students will have two weeks to make-up work. Failure to make up work could result in an incomplete grade. The apprenticeship program and/or licensing courses must fulfill required hours/passing grade in order to complete the course.
Tardiness
Academic students late for class three times or more may be subject to grade reduction.
Grading
Northeast requires a grade of 65 to pass. Students needing an academic grade for college must meet the grade requirement for the college they are enrolled in. Students making-up a grade for their high school must also meet the requirement of the school accepting the grade. Passing grades for apprenticeship courses will be determined by the State Apprenticeship Board. Manicuring requires a passing grade of 70 and the passing of a State Exam to be licensed. Dental Radiology requires a grade of 85 in the written and 85 in the practical to be certified. Dental Assisting requires a grade of 65 and 3,500 working hours to be certified. All students successfully passing courses will be given a certificate/grade. ACADEMIC STUDENTS MUST FOLLOW THE COURSE SYLLABUS TO OBTAIN CREDIT. All grades are kept on file and transcripts sent on request.
Drug Policy
Possession and/or us of drugs is illegal. Any students found in violation of this law will automatically be expelled with no credit earned and could face possible criminal action.
Tobacco Policy
Under state law, there is no smoking on school grounds or any extension of school grounds whatsoever. Any student in violation of this law could face possible expulsion.
Materials and Supplies
Any materials and supplies, supplied by the student must be brought to class the first night.
Parking
Students must park in designated areas only. Parking outside designated areas may result in towing at the owner's expense.
