Northeast is proud to have trained industry professionals for over thirty years. The apprentice programs are instructed by industry professionals licensed in their respective areas. Students can earn required MASSACHUSETTS apprenticeship, journeyman and continuing education hours in several trades.
Please review each course for specific information as some coursework reflects new changes in STATE regulations.

Apprentice Programs
Apprentice Enrollment Policy
Students may enroll for ONE FULL YEAR (fall and spring semesters) during the Fall registration or one half year during Spring registration. However please note: THERE WILL BE NO FULL YEAR ENROLLMENT DURING SPRING REGISTRATION. ALL COURSES MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION (NO EXCEPTIONS) All of our apprentice course instructors are experienced veteran teachers with many years of trade and teaching experience. Due to last minute changes in student enrollment and other factors, we will post specific instructor class assignments the first night of classes.

Carpentry - Level 1
Instructor: Stephen Barry
Tues./Thurs., 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $425
This course is for the student that desires to learn all the various aspects of the Carpentry trade. The curriculum will include safety, use of tools, framing foundations, stock selections, window/door installation, siding, roofing, decking, title work, and much more. Classroom and hands on shop instruction will be utilized to ensure that students understand each new carpentry/construction concept. (No previous experience is necessary.) This class can be used for required MA. State Apprenticeship hours.
Carpentry - Level II
Instructor: Stephen Barry
Tues./ Thurs. 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $425
Level two curriculum will expand on skills introduced in Level 1. This course is designed for students with advanced framing practices, commercial steel stud wall construction, drop ceilings, stair layout, blue-print readings, construction based mathematics and estimated job costs. Prerequisite: Carpentry Level 1 or one-year equivalent of trade experience documented.
Construction/Building License

Tuesday & Thursday, 6--9 p.m. 100 hour course

The purpose of this course is to prepare the student for the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License Exam. (Plus cost of book)
Electrical - Level I
Instructor: John Resigno
Tuesday & Thursday 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $425
Electrical 1 will be an introduction to safety on the job, writing a job description, terms of the trade, basic electron theory, a review of math skills, DC Theory, energy and power, electrical conductors and wire sizes, batteries, magnets and magnetic fields, generation of electromotive force, basic understanding of motors and generators, introduction into the code book, grounding, and practical wiring diagrams and switching.
Electrical - Level II
Instructor: Stephen Hickey
Tuesday & Thursday 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $425
Electrical 2 will be a review of Electrical 1 and also cover series, parallel, and series/parallel circuits, alternating current principals, AC theory, AC power, power factor and power factor corrections, three phase services, making use of tables in the code book, proper use of the code book tables and formulas, and practice working on code questions in preparation for exams.
Electrical - Level III

Electrical 3 will be a review of electrical 1 & 2 and also a review A/C theory, three phase calculations, series, parallel and the combinations of them, branch circuit calculations, feeder and service calculations and requirements, motor controls, low voltage systems and controls, review Massachusetts code and Amendments, learn various types of incandescent bases.
Electrical - Level IV

Tuesday and Thursday 6-9 p.m.

Electrical 4 will be a review of Electrical 1, 2 & 3, it will also cover extensive code questions, and code table review questions, review circuit problems for AC/DC and help prepare the apprentice for taking the electrical exam.
Electrical - Masters

This master`s course is designed to include Electrical Contractors, Electrical Inspectors, and qualified Licensed Electricians. This course of study will include AC/DC theory, leading and lagging circuits, DC and AC motors and controls. Demand factor calculations for residential, commercial, and industrial applications as well. National Electrical Code Review. Estimating & Massachusetts Master & System Contractor, Business& Law, Feeder & Service Calculations, Electrical Bonding & Ground Path Theory. Review of all subjects covered in 600 hour Journeyman Course and job safety.
Electrical Journeyman’s Prep Course

This course will help provide insight and understanding of the National Electrical Code. The course is designed as a refresher for those wishing to take the Journeyman or Master examination. The course will include Electrical Theory, Calculations, and in-depth use of the code book. Meets 237CMR17.00 requirements. Professional Development.

THIS COURSE IS FOR LICENSED JOURNEYMEN AND MASTER ELECTRICIANS. Satisfies Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine requirements. Meets 237CMR17.00 requirements.

Gas Fitting

Plumbing I
Open to plumbers who have held an apprentice card prior to September 1, 2008

Cost: $425
Complete explanation and interpretation of the Mass Plumbing and Gas Fuel Code. Including design of plumbing drainage, venting, water distribution systems, gas design of piping, venting, and testing. Explanation of installments of appliances, and interpretation of Gas Fuel Code. Sizing of both plumbing and gas systems. Related mathematics, use of tables, charts regarding to plumbing and gas design systems. Total comprehensive explanation of all aspects of plumbing and gas codes with special regards to its basic principles needed for the trade.
Plumbing II
Open to plumbers who have held an apprentice card prior to September 1, 2008

Preparation for Journeyman Plumbing Exam. Mass. Plumbing Code, introduction and explanation of National Fuel Gas Code. Plumbing math, water, drain and gas pipe sizing. Combustion air and mechanical exhaust for residential and commercial installations.
Plumbing Masters

This course is comprised of the following listed topics: code review and update, blueprint reading, plumbing math, business math, OSHA laws relating to plumbing, State and Municipal Bid Laws and Procedures, gas code review, plan review, single line, and isometrics sketching. The above mentioned outline is designed to cover all aspects of questions, which have been included in recent Masters examinations. In addition, we are including ADA (American Disability Act) requirements relating to the plumbing code.
Plumbers Journeyman/ Masters Exam Preparatory Course

This course is designed to review all aspects of the plumbing code and related information necessary to pass the Plumbers License Exam. Plumbing math, code, science, indirect waste systems, roof drains, gas piping, and water distribution systems will be covered. Hours can no longer be used toward state required hours.
PLUMBERS!!!!!!!! NEW REGULATIONS...SEPTEMBER 2008
Massachusetts General Law has mandated that beginning in September 2008 all plumbing apprenticeship training programs approved by the state, must meet the same standards and follow a common curriculum.
The new system will require 550 hours (110 each year) of classroom instruction, plus 5 years on the job training.
Mandatory Continuing Education for All Licensed Plumbers.
Prior to license renewal in 2010 all plumbers must provide proof of completion for the required 12 hours of continuing education. (6 hours per year).
