Algebra 1

Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. – 11 weeks $200
This course takes an informal approach assuming that the real number system exists and will conduct a systematic investigation of its properties. The course focuses on the principles and comprehension of algebraic expressions, linear equations, polynomials, radicals and percentages.
Biology with Lab

Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. – 11 weeks $200
This pre-college course will cover topics including cell structure and function and the general characteristics of the plant and animal kingdoms, with emphasis on human physiology and genetics.
Chemistry (Pre-Nursing) with Lab

Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. -11 weeks $200
Chemistry studies matter, what it is made of, and how it can be changed. Students will investigate topics such as elements, mixtures and compounds. The periodic table will be explained so that the students can use it as a scientist would. Chemical reactions will be explored so that the students can write formulas and equations from them. The proper way of making solutions and measuring their strength will also be examined by experimentation. Laboratory investigations stressing equipment and techniques also will be conducted.
Medical Terminology
Instructor: Barbara Brigante
Thursday, 6-9 p.m. - 11 weeks $275
Medical Terminology is designed to introduce the prefixes, suffixes and word roots using the anatomical system approach. Word building skills are incorporated in the course, and terms used in the diagnostic, pathological, therapeutic and pharmaceutical aspects of medical care are defined and discussed.
Dental Assisting – 100 hours

Monday and Thursday, 7-10 p.m. $1000
This 100-hour introductory course will train students in the skills needed to become knowledgeable in the career of Dental Assisting. Skills taught will concentrate on chair-side clinical skills and will include an introduction to dentistry, infection control, safety, basic anatomy of the oral cavity, operative equipment, instrumentation, four handed dental procedures, materials and supplies used in the dental office. (12 student maximum.)
Prerequisites:
1) High school diploma or equivalent
2) Hepatitis B vaccine certificate at least to the 2nd vaccine
3) A dental office that will agree to work with you on shadowing basis ONLY (15 hours.) If you cannot acquire an office, the instructor will help you.
4) CPR current certification.
Note: All documentation must be given to instructor.
Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification Course
Instruction: TBA $500
Four Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
This course will be a practical hands-on experience as well as lecture. The last day will include a practical clinical radiographic examination as well as written examination. In order to receive our MASSACHUSETTS CERTIFICATION OF RADIOLOGY, you must achieve at least an 85 in both the written and practical portions of the exam. (10 students maximum.)
Prerequisites
1) Must be currently working as a dental assistant or recently employed full-time or at least 1000 hours of employment. Please bring letter of verification for this from your employer
2) High school diploma
3) Hepatitis B Vaccine certificate
Digital X-ray Course – 10 hours
Instructor: Sharon Farrington
Saturdays TBA $275
Course will use Schick equipment and Patterson’s Eagle Soft software. Students will build upon their knowledge beginning with analog radiography and improving their knowledge with digital radiographs.
All students will be exposing at least one full set of x-rays. Upon completion you will have successfully exposed one full set of radiographs and receive a certificate of completion. Call our office for more information, 781-246-0810.
Prerequisite:
Students must have their certification for radiology. Proof must be supplied prior to registration.
Phlebotomy Training – NEW!
Instructor: Debra Roper
Day: TBA, 6 – 9 p.m., 8 weeks $175.00
This course provides practical training and the necessary skills on how to draw blood. The individual will become familiar with all the equipment used and develop a comfort level for drawing blood. This is a hands-on course but also includes bookwork and testing. Students must pass the written exam and show the draw in order to receive their certificate of completion. This course is for the beginner which requires no previous specialized background. (15 student maximum) Call our office for more information, 781-246-0810.
